You might find a pattern forming here where I already have stuff but it’s too heavy and not fit for purpose. My sleeping bag is just another example of this.
For my Europe backpacking adventure in 2004/5 I had a 65L backpack and it could comfortably fit my big, fat warm sleeping bag. And I needed that big, fat warm sleeping bag ’cause it was winter and would often get down to -4 degrees Celsius inside the campervan.
Fast forward to today… I still have the big, fat warm sleeping bag but, if I stuffed that in my new backpack I wouldn’t have much room left for anything else to fit. No joke.
So I decided that what I needed was a cooler, lighter, more compact sleeping bag.
The Sea To Summit Spark SP1 was exactly what I was looking for and actually compresses down to a size akin to your average 1L water bottle and this will be a great space saver.
