RAAF Base Richmond Loop (8km)

Notes:
So today’s quick lap started late in the day at 5pm, and consequently I ended up walking at least half of it in the dark. It was fine weather and 23 degrees Celsius so my rain jacket wasn’t needed, but even without it I found my new merino shirt a little hot. As previously mentioned I’m kinda hoping this won’t be a problem when get to Spain in Oct/Nov but if I deem it necessary I may just have to buy a lighter version before I go.

Also today I hit the 150km training milestone. I wore the same gear as the previous couple of walks only with a 10.6kg pack on my back – the heaviest so far. I was also motoring!! I hit a max speed of 9.1km/h. Must have been scared of the dark. Ha ha.

Everything aside, all went well with no injuries sustained. Which is pleasing given I’m trialling my first back to back, consecutive day walk this week. Tomorrow it’ll be another 24km.

Distance walked today: 8km

Weight of Pack and Contents: 10.6kg

Surface: Asphalt

Weather: Dry

Total Distance Walked for Training thus far: 152km
