Flights and Travel Insurance Purchased… Tick!

Exciting news!!

Of all the purchases I’ve made so far, my return airfare to Paris and, that all-important comprehensive travel insurance, are arguably the most significant. They’re certainly two of the most expensive single items I’ve purchased thus far and, without them, I wasn’t going anywhere.

Since the start of the year, I’ve been receiving regular flight updates for flights via the Google Flight tracker, and over that time I’ve seen nothing but price increases. I hadn’t pulled the trigger on making this significant purchase ’cause for some reason I was still holding out hope that there’d be some special sale and the prices would start to come back down.

However, it was after chatting to a longtime friend (Bec) who works at Flight Centre North Lakes in Queensland, that she made me realise these tickets were only going to get more expensive as countries continue to relax their international borders and, as my travel date nears and seats fill up on flights.

She also not only gave me some options and made me think about sliding my dates a few days either side to investigate other price possibilities and flight durations, but basically gave me the kick up the rear that I needed to bite the bullet and make the important purchase.

So thanks for the advice Bec (and your personal donation to the Black Dog Insitute via my Fundraising Portal) – I’m ever so grateful!!

And while the travel industry is doing it tough at the moment, the least I can do is hopefully send some other like-minded travellers in your direction by adding your contact details to this post.
