Main Hiking Daypack (incl. rain cover)

This is probably one of the most important pieces of kit I’ll need on this little romp across Spain.

Having lugged a 65L backpack around Europe 18 years ago, I know all too well how uncomfortable those things can become even after a relatively short period of time. I had considered re-purposing the matching patch-covered 24L daypack for use on this trip, but quickly decided that something more appropriate was needed.

Given the limited days I have to walk the Camino-Frances, I can’t afford to have the wrong equipment and increase the risk of injury as this would lead to delays I just can’t afford to have.

So after much research and some solid recommendations from fellow-trekkers, the pack I settled on provides 34L of packing space and weighs just under 1.5kg. It has pockets-a-plenty and an integrated raincover should the weather turn nasty. But perhaps its most attractive feature is the arched suspension backpanel which not only optimises pack balance, but provides ventilation against your back and therefore reduces that sweaty back syndrome that can often occur on long hikes.

It’s also blue in colour and you know what that means (if not, see Auxiliary Daypack blurb).
