RAAF Base Richmond Loop (24km)

Notes:
Okay this blog entry will be much shorter I promise. Ha ha.

I like it when I can train to all conditions and today’s training was really tough. Before my walk I went out with workmates for a great steak sandwich and a beer (sandwich de bistec y una cerveza). Up until this point I usually just headed out on an empty stomach and zero alcohol onboard.

And… the results are in… I clocked my fastest time over 24km at a blistering 3hrs 37min. Smashing my previous record by almost 10min.

All conditions were identical as it was the same flat-track, a dry day and 10.6kg on my back. I did however have those little compression toggles in my pack undone this time around and the load did feel more distributed… Go figure. Ha ha

Not sure about this recommended 120h recovery in the stats above though. That’s not gonna happen on the Camino.

And finally, I reached my 200km milestone today. Yay me.

Distance walked today: 24km

Weight of Pack and Contents: 10.6kg

Surface: Asphalt

Weather: Dry.

Total Distance Walked for Training thus far: 200km

  1. Thanks. To think I’ll be hitting the 200km mark during day nine of the Camino instead of the leisurely stroll I’ve had over the past 48 days.
